KNOW HOW WE APPLY THESE PILLARS WITHIN OUR PROCESS.

Farms and facilities

Our allied farms are located at strategic points that safeguard the harvest during the year and that provide the herbs with the right climate, altitude, and soil nutrients for their growth.

Production process

All farms have organic certification under the NOP (National Organic Program) standard, which is monitored by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture). International certifiers guarantee that our suppliers adhere to the NOP rules, guaranteeing the organic nature of the product. Similarly, they ensure compliance with Good Agricultural Practices in crops and Good Manufacturing Practices in packing rooms.

The process begins by selecting the best seeds. Once selected, they are prepared and nourished to help them develop to then be bred in fertile soil.

The sowing process is carried out with pneumatic machinery, capable of measuring and locating the seed at the indicated depth. Later, the young seed is isolated in the greenhouse, where it sprouts in a controlled environment to mitigate the effects of the weather while they grow.

During the harvest, farmers and other workers follow the guidelines known as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for the correct handling of herbs. Traceability protocols implemented, allow the product to be tracked from its origin, knowing which batch it belongs to and who was responsible for cutting it.

In the packing room, the product is carefully handled and selected. During this stage of the process, special care is given to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), a system that works to define risk and danger control points. The product is packaged in bags of one pound (American) 450 grams, and they are taken to a refrigeration room for conservation. We have refrigerated warehouses for each crop.

Selection and Packing

Top-quality leaves are chosen in detail and the best of the batch is selected.

A phytosanitary inspection is carried out to identify and eliminate any unwanted elements such as fungi, bacteria, or insects.

Quality process

On the farm:

For the land, with a high degree of minerals, a fertigation system is used to enrich the water with nutrients for the crop.

  • Seedlings that do not meet quality standards are not transferred to the crop.
  • A limited number of cuts are stipulated for the crops, avoiding aging and a decrease in quality.

Organic repellents are used and act as insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides, to protect crops from unwanted organisms.

Transport and Warehouse:

The product is transported from the farms to the airport in refrigerated trucks at the right temperature. There, the airlines have cooling rooms to guarantee the cold chain of the product.

We monitor the temperature of our herbs throughout the supply chain, using electronic thermometers that provide information from the place of origin to their destination. Our staff works 24/7, constantly making sure that the product is in optimal conditions.

To guarantee the state of the herbs and at the same time have the location of the product in real time; we have a logistics system that offers clear and concise traceability in place.

We consolidate the transport of all our products from Bogotá, Colombia. At the airport, we make sure that the herbs enter the cold rooms of the airlines to maintain the cold chain. Before the departure of the flight, do Vacuum Cooling of the products that require it for their conservation during the flight.

To transport the product from origin to destination, we use cargo planes that are refrigerated.

Once the product reaches its destination and passes the inspection of the United States Customs Department, (CBP = Customs and Border Protection), it is transferred to our warehouse located less than half a mile from Miami International Airport (MIA). We have a logistics and transport team that has 12 trucks at their disposal to speed up both the collection and delivery of the product. Our warehouse has more than 10 doors for loading and unloading products and our state-of-the-art cold rooms maintain the proper temperature of the product from its arrival until the moment of its distribution.

Our products are stored strategically, always allowing good air circulation and guaranteeing an adequate temperature. We have 24/7 staff in the warehouse and equipment for fast loading and unloading (Electric Pallet Jack) of trucks, which allows us to meet customer expectations and times.

Once they arrive at our warehouse, the temperature is measured so as to ensure its quality. The herbs are classified and organized for dispatch to the client.

This is what our customers think about of us.
